This is the most unique fundraiser we have had to date! Several
men from our community set a goal to raise $1,000 by asking for pledges from
friends and family. These men are then asked to walk a mile in high heels! That
is right! High Heels!
The event theme is based on the saying that you do not know
what someone has experienced unless you have walked a mile in their shoes. The
event was first held in December of 2006 and was such a huge success we decided
to make it an annual event to benefit our Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)
Program.
This event gives our community the chance to have a great
time while supporting a great cause and spreading awareness!
Women
and children are invited to participate for a small donation of $10, and are
allowed to wear tennis shoes unlike our men who choose to walk! Different
levels of sponsorships are available, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
Registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and the march will begin at 10:00
a.m. Saturday morning on April 18,2009 in River Ranch Town Square.
